Hasgrove Hikers' PledgePage

Seven brave colleagues and friends from the Hasgrove Group have signed up for the Three Peaks Challenge – No Laughing Matter – which will take place during the weekend of 29th-30th June 2007. The challenge is to walk the three highest peaks in the UK: Ben Nevis (1,344 metres high or 4,406 feet) in Scotland, Scafell Pike (978 metres high or 3,208 feet) in England, and Snowdon (1,085 metres high or 3,560 feet) in Wales in 24 hours!

This challenge is in aid of Act 4 Africa which is a health education charity which delivers HIV and AIDS Education and Behavioural Change Programmes in an effort to arrest the AIDS pandemic which is threatening the whole of the African continent. The team has to raise 7,000 Pounds(10,300 Euros) so will be embarking on a massive fundraising extravaganza over the next few months.

The team is currently in training - pounding the streets of Manchester at lunchtime, eating healthily, trying to avoid alcohol and spending Saturday mornings hiking up some of the most stunning countryside surrounding the North West, no matter the weather!
